Date & Time: Saturday, July 25th, with voting from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Location: Saturday, July 25th: Roundhouse Shelter Access Road, Genesee Valley Park (1000 E River Rd, Rochester, NY 14623). You can access a map here.

  • If a second round of voting is needed on Sunday, July 26th, the voting will occur on the access road to the Monroe County Democratic Committee offices (1150 University Avenue, Building 5, Rochester, NY 14607).

Further Information:

Credentialing of Committee Members: All committee members will drive-up or walk-up to the first station where a volunteer(s) will have the committee member state their name, present any proxy, and sign into the meeting.

Method of Voting: After credentialing, all county committee members will be handed a ballot with a listing of all nominated candidates. The weighted voted of the voting committee member’s election district will also be written on the ballot. The committee member will then pull forward, mark their ballot, and place it in the sealed box at the next station.

Counting of Votes: Votes will be counted immediately following the end of balloting on-site. All committee members are free to watch the count. The winner will be announced immediately following the ballot count.

Why are we voting in this manner? Because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, large groups have not been allowed to meet in-person. As a countywide committee, MCDC has over 1700 committee members. A committee was formed to create a safe, transparent, trustworthy, yet familiar voting process to decide who will be MCDC’s “Certified Recommendation” to the Monroe County Legislature to be confirmed as the next Board of Elections Democratic Commissioner.

Safety First! All volunteers, staff and committee members will be required to wear facemasks at all times of the voting process. Other sanitation products and PPE for volunteers will be supplied.
